Set amidst lush tropical rainforest that gives way to 14kms of spectacular white sandy beaches, Mission Beach is approximately half way between Cairns and Townsville. Here you can find the rare and endangered cassowary, one of the many rare animals found in the tropical rainforest. Just take time to stand quietly and observe the complex ecosystem which abounds in this tropical environment.

The Mission Beach area consist of four villages: South Mission Beach, Wongaling Beach, Mission Beach and Bingil Bay. In Mission Beach there are some shops, cafes, galleries and restaurants. Here you have access to Dunk Island which is about 4 km off the coast. And of course you find accommodation that mostly take advantage of the magnificent ocean views, golden beaches or glorious tropical rainforest.

Mission Beach is easily accessible through Mission Beach Bus and Coach transfers from Cairns Airport. Activities in this region include: Skydiving right on the beach, canoeing, sunbathing or visiting Paronella Park. Within the park a magical castle sits amidst 13 acres of rainforest beside Mena Creek Falls. Jose Paronella built his garden and park in the early 1930s for his pleasure. Even today after a fire destroyed the house you still can experience the magic of the past when you walk through the park and the ruins.
